HETG Emission Line Analysis of Stellar Wind Parameters: Very Early O-Type Stars
Abstract
We present the Chandra HETG spectra of two massive, very early O-type stars, HD93129AB and HD93250, comparing with those from later O-type stars. Two valuable X-ray emission line diagnostics are examined: 1) the He-like f/i line ratios which provide information on the stellar wind radial locations of the X-ray sources, and; 2) the H-like to He-like line ratios that can be used to determine the associated X-ray temperatures of these sources. The results for these massive early O-stars are checked for consistency with the general radial-dependent relationship between the X-ray temperatures and the fir-inferred radii as found by Waldron and Cassinelli (2007). In addition, these fir-inferred radii are also compared to their respective X-ray continuum optical unity radii.
